my life in 5 years ?!?

Honestly, I’m pretty terrified to think what my life will look like in 5 years. Prediction is quite difficult, especially about the future. I am a kind of person who loves planning things and I always knew what I want to do, where , what is more, with whom. But the reality is brutal (or rather I should put it another way- THE FUTURE IS UNPREDICTIBLE, which sounds much more optimistic) and , in fact, none of my ‘dreams’ will come true…

The thing that I’ve learned from my own experience is the fact that the most beautiful things in live happen all of a sudden. I mean, you meet some people by chance and your life turns upside down. Secretly, I hope this will happen to me ;)

Still, I have some plans and expectations concerning my future life. To put it in a nutshell, as probably majority of you (who read my blog), I would like to perform a rewarding career which would make me happy and satisfied. I hope this would be a well-paid job, which would enable me to fulfill my dream that is traveling. The next principal point is family, friends and a beloved person that I would be able to regale with my troubles and triumphs. Basically, I hope that in 5 years i will be a woman satisfied with her life.

ObAmA

Finally these whole craziness concerning the President election is the US ended up. As for the winner, I am extremely satisfied it is Barack Obama who won the election, since I supported him from the very begging. You may wonder why? To my way of thinking, first and foremost, it will have an enormous influence on the situation of Black-American people in the US. One cannot deny that achieving ‘full equality’ by Black-Americans related to civic rights is not tantamount to admitting that racial discrimination does not exist. I mean, those people are still prone to encounter a great deal of discrimination in various areas of life. The election of Barack Obama for the 44th president may be a stepping stone to overturn this inequality. As you may see, my strongest expectation concerns the racial issues. As far ‘real’ politics goes, honestly, I am not keen on it, as a result I am not able to predict what kind of changes may occur in USA. Moreover, I assume that many of you bear in mind following question: Does the election of Barack Obama have any impact on political situation of Poland? Hmm Hopefully yes, however, we have to wait some time in order to get a clear answer for this question…

And I could play basketball, with a consuming passion that would always exceed my limited talent....
--Barack Obama, from his autobiography Dreams from My Father

Hmmm …In the light of the above quotation we may assume that Barack is exceptionally modest person.

By the way, what astonished me about this photo, is the fact that Barack Obama is the only Afro-American men in the picture... what perfectly correspond to the idea of racial inequality expressed before.

Sorry for posting my photos now but my scanner was out of order.

When I saw this photo I couldn’t resist the temptation to post it :D I was taken when I was 6 years old.

Try to guess… Where is Wally?

I think you should not have any bigger problems with finding me J

Now, I would like to present to you my favourite photo that was taken at my grandmother’s house, whi
ch is where I spent almost all my childhood. The lady that you can see behind me, or rather you cannot see :D is my sister Lidka. She was trying her best to teach me how to play a simple melody on the piano. The lesson proved to be a great success and I was able to play the melody of a Polish carol entitled ‘Przybieżeli do Betlejem pasterze’.

Teaching practise…

I my eyes, many of us thanks to the teaching practice could face the reality, it was not the time to ‘practice our skills’ but the time to find the answer for by far crucial question. Is it a profession that I want enter?

When sitting at the back of the classroom and watching a teacher everything seems to be so easy. Nevertheless, my teaching practice made me realise it is not a piece of cake. Firstly, the fact that discouraged me the most was time-consuming preparations for each lesson; as a student of The Teaching Training College with the head full of this methodological stuff I did my best to prepare a perfect lesson. I spent the whole evening preparing one lesson, what included thinking of the subject, looking for eye-catching visual aids, printing and sticking them to the coloured pieces of papers, preparing interesting exercises ect. Then, the lesson comes! Actually, I conducted the same lesson in 2 classes, which gave me an insight into the reality. No matter how well prepared you may be almost everything depends on the class where the lesson takes place. The first lesson proved to be a ‘success’, for students were involved, seemed to enjoy the lesson and did not cause major discipline problems; When the second one was a challenge. Disruptive and wayward behaviour, nasty comments and total lack of cooperation those were obstacles that I had to overcome. After the lesson I was wondering what I did wrong, if is was my fault or no. It was not a good experience, nonetheless, those bad ones made us stronger! ;)

Still I do not know if I want to become a teacher. I have mixed feelings. I am aware of the fact that I sacrificed three years of my life for studying English so it would be a shame not to take advantage of it… we’ ll see…

Then, to my favourites I can include Amy Winehouse (I hope she will be able to release a new Cd), Adele, Kate Nash, Lilly Allen, Duffy and many many more……

When I am browsing through my Cds I cannot help noticing a huge number of calmer tones;)
Soul, pop and jazz…. Are those that makes me feel relax.

One of my favourite Polish singers is Ania Dąbrowska, who is both singer both and composer.

Her inspiration is often retro
music, especially Polish music of the 50's and 60's. I my eyes she is one of the few real artists that can be found in Poland.

Andrzej Smolik is a Polish musician, composer, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He began his career as a keyboard player in the nand Wilki in 1993.In 1996 and 1997 Smolik worked with the group Hey. He also worked with Dj Novica and with the group Myslivitz. Smolik won the national "Fryderyk" award for composers in 2003 and 2004. And in 2004 he won a 'Polityka Passport Award' from the magazine Polityka. His solo albums are Smolik (2001), Smolik 2 (2003) and 3 (2006).

Worth listening to:)

Some more to check out: T.love (as I suppose most of you know), Hey, The Fray, The Killers (unfortunately I am bitterly disappointed with their latest album ), The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand, The Cribs, The White Stripes, Incubus, Coldplay. Thanks to my roommate Paulina I had a chance to become familiar with The Smith and Interpol :D sometimes Paulina provides me with an evening entertainment, that is to say, dancing and singing to her favourites:)

With special dedication to You!!!

As far as my favourite kind of music is concerned, it is pretty hard to define a particular one. Obviously what I listen to depends on my mood. So I decided to choose a little bit of everythingJ

To start with, I enormously enjoy listening to rock music, as u may derive pleasure not only from the music itself but also from interpreting lyrics. The list of bands I like it never ending, usually when I discover something new I can listen to one song over and over again, then, I am either fed up with the song or I find out something new. Obviously I have my ‘Top Ten”J those are songs or Cds that I tend to come back from time to time.

Snow Patrol is a Northen Irish and Scottish alternative rock band which was formed in Dundee, Scotland. It was originally formed as an indie rock band, Snow Patrol have sought a more alternative rock and powerpop sound.

Unfortunately, the link is not available , on this account, you are not able to take a look at the video on my blog, but of course you may always type it in the YouTube window:) )
