Ok… so now my turn to write a few words about my hometown. Actually, I am not really satisfied to find out how talented my classmates are hehe (especially Kris >you had better take a look at his blog >stunning
As probably many of you know I am living in Śrem. It is a small town situated in the heard of Poland, it is 45 km to the south of Poznań. As a result, there are many companies with private and foreign capital. Nevertheless, I suppose Śrem is too small to make a career in;). Nothing lost! You can take a bus (that runs every 30 min.) or take your own car (if you are lucky enough) and get to Poznań, which is the city of amble opportunities. What I like about Śrem is the fact that it is constantly developing (I have similar impression as Aga has) every time I go back home I am surprised by a new shopping center, restaurant or even sport club. You can easily feel that the city is alive! As far as leisure facilities are concerned, there ia abundance of them, maybe it is not a never ending list but I can mention: a museum, a cinema, clubs, pitches, a stadium, a swimming pool, bowling alleys, gyms, and a yacht club. I belive that everyone can find something nice J What you may find interesting is the fact that there is a branch of Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań. The branch offers Bachelor of Science courses in material chemistry and tourism. I am not going to write anything more as all those information is available on the Internet…
Childhood, happiness, family, friends , memories those good and bad ones….
This come to my mind when I think MY Śrem. I’ ve never thought that I would be so emotional about my hometown. It struck me that I began to personalize Śrem when I started to travel and live in different cities. Now I know we begin to appreciate something when it is out of our reach. Then , we come up with of all advantages it has to offer. Śrem will always be a place when I can find a smiling familiar face and where somebody is waiting for me ,as Kris nicely sad it is like a shelter. If I want to flee from hustle and bustle of Poznań I go to Śrem. It is a small city but you cannot say that it lacks something. It is basically a nice place where I can enjoy myself with my family or friends.

I can see that we all get emotional when we now think about our hometowns. It is true to say that we appreciate those places when we lack them;)I think those smaller cities like mine, yours or Basia's have their charm and we could definitely show people many enchanting spots where our memories hide:)
I find it very appealing (not appalling!) that many of you are so emotional and/or sentimental about your hometowns. I like that. :)
